A mad but determined team of MRIB employees have this year entered the Tough Mudder challenge which is taking place on 2nd May.
Tough Mudder is a gruelling 12 mile obstacle course designed by British Special Forces, intended to test physical strength, stamina, team work and mental grit. The hardcore obstacles include ice baths, electric shocks and a ring of fire to name a few…
The team came together to raise awareness and money for Helen & Douglas House, who have provided invaluable support to Justin Kogel (Corporate Director at MRIB), his wife Catherine and their son Charlie.
Charlie was diagnosed in the first few weeks of his life with Group B Meningitis, and although he fought his illness with admirable fighting spirit, Charlie very sadly passed away on 25th December 2014, aged 6 years.
Helen & Douglas House provide the time and expertise to care for children and young adults with life-shortening conditions, as well as support for their families. The two hospice houses offer specialist symptom and pain management, medically-supported short breaks and end-of-life care, as well as counselling and practical support for the whole family.
